The different types of glass
Clear glazing
In addition to this, you will need to know more about it.
Clear Glass is a traditional glazing characterized by its transparency and low residual coloration.
Clear Glass is manufactured using the float process which involves inserting a mixture of materials (silica, soda, lime) into the oven.
Often used in homes as shelves or furniture, clear transparent glass provides natural light, limiting the need for artificial lighting.
Transparent Clear Glass thus saves energy, while providing well-being and comfort. We offer clear glasses from 2 to 19 mm.
Applications:
Furniture, shelves, interior doors, ...
Part of the composition of double glazing

In addition to this, you will need to know more about it.
Extra Clear Glass is traditional glazing that contains a low iron oxide content unlike Clear Glass.
Extra Clear Glass has a more aesthetic rendering with exceptional transparency by removing the greenish color of the edge.
It also has better light transmission, higher than conventional glass. It also provides optimal vision.

Laminated glazing: security glazing, burglar-retardant and burglar-resistant glazing
In addition to this, you will need to know more about it.
The protective laminated glazing complies with standard EN 12543.
It is composed of two or more panes assembled together using one or more films of polyvinyl butyral (PVB)
Its usual representation XXX.Y indicates the thicknesses of the glazing and the number of PVB films. The nominal thickness of a film is 0.38 mm.
Example: 44.2 is composed of 2 glazings 4 mm thick and 2 PVB films
The range of glazing is segmented according to the level of performance and its use:
Protection against injuries
Protection against falling people
Protection against falling objects
Protection against vandalism and burglary
Reinforced protection
Protection against gunfire
Explosion protection.
Standard EN 356 defines eight performance classes based on tests representing the ability of glazing to resist throwing objects (level 1) or attempted break-in using a sledgehammer or an ax ( level 2).
The performance of the laminates varies depending on the temperature.
Standard classification EN 356
Level 1
Corresponds to the ability of glazing to resist throwing objects.
The 4.1 kg ball drop test is satisfied if 3 test pieces resist penetration (3 triangle impacts).
Level 2
Corresponds to break-in attempts using a sledgehammer or an ax to create a 40 x 40 opening, called a "manway". The number of impacts necessary for its realization determines the class of the glazing.

Lacquered glass is made from clear glass, it can be tempered (to be used in the back of a hostel and kitchen splashback in order to withstand temperature shocks). Lacquered glass can be used in interior decoration, whether for furniture, for doors and partitions, wall coverings, backs of cooker or kitchen splashbacks.
